Basic Fire Safety Awareness Orientation Based on BFP Fire Safety Seminar

A Fire Safety Basic Orientation Seminar is a brief training program that equips participants with essential knowledge and skills to prevent fires and respond effectively during emergencies. It covers key topics such as fire prevention measures, safety procedures, and proper evacuation techniques. Participants also learn to identify fire hazards and use fire extinguishers correctly, emphasizing the importance of preparedness.

The primary goal of the seminar is to raise fire safety awareness and help reduce the risk of fire incidents in homes, workplaces, and other environments.

Does Fire Extinguisher Expire?

Over time, the chemicals and components inside a fire extinguisher can deteriorate, reducing its effectiveness during an emergency. Most standard fire extinguishers have a lifespan of about 10–12 years and should be replaced once they reach that age. Regular inspection and maintenance are also essential to ensure your extinguisher remains in safe and reliable working condition when you need it most.

How to Check, Inspect, and Maintain your Fire Extinguishers?

To properly maintain a fire extinguisher, it should be kept in a visible and easily accessible location at all times. Regularly check the pressure gauge to ensure it remains fully charged. During inspection, confirm that the pull pin is intact, the nozzle is clear and undamaged, and the label indicates it is within its service life. Also, look for any signs of dents, rust, or leaks. Most importantly, make sure the extinguisher is always in its designated location for quick access during emergencies.
